A Global Capability Center is the most strategic offshore decision an enterprise makes — and the one most often delayed because the build is daunting. Apptad's GCC practice runs three service models that solve different parts of the problem: Build-Operate-Transfer for clients who want eventual full ownership; managed and co-managed GCCs for clients who'd rather treat operations as a service; and Talent-as-a-Service into client-led GCCs for organizations that already have an entity but need our talent operations to fill it. Three Ways to Run a GCC
The right service model is a function of how much control the client wants over the center's destiny — and how quickly they need scale. We've seen all three work. The wrong choice usually shows up two years in, when transfer terms or governance gaps surface; we lock those in at contract.
Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT)
We establish the legal entity, hire leadership, scale functional pods, and run operations under our brand. After an agreed term — typically 24-36 months — the entity, headcount, and operating model transfer to client ownership.
Managed / Co-Managed GCC
The client owns the entity strategically; Apptad operates it day-to-day under shared governance. Used by clients who want captive economics without taking on operational complexity.
Talent-as-a-Service into Client-Led GCCs
The client owns and runs the entity; Apptad supplies and retains the talent. Common for organizations expanding an existing GCC into new functional areas without rebuilding their internal TA function.
Risk & Continuity
Every GCC engagement includes documented business-continuity, IP-protection, data-residency, and exit-clause provisions. Transfer terms are negotiated up-front, not at the end.
